Executive Summary

The client, a US-based multinational conglomerate and a Fortune 100 company, manufactures a range of voice mobile devices with an inbuilt hands-free system. This product supports wireless/wired headsets and certified wired peripherals.

The existing chipset design was based Windows CE platform, which will no longer be supported by Microsoft. To future-proof the device, the client chose to migrate to Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ APQ8016E. To accomplish this, they sought a design partner with prior experience in delivering solutions based on Qualcomm® processors. Also, they wanted a partner with the capability to support them not only with hardware development, but also with software, firmware and testing requirements.

After evaluating the client’s requirement specification document, eInfochips captured all functional and non-functional requirements and proposed a complete solution. eInfochips undertook the complete development in three prototype cycles along with support for thermal testing as per specified standards.
