PXE Driver Development

Executive Summary

Our client, a market leader in storage equipment industry had designed a new Host Bus Adaptor (HBA) for Storage Area Network (SAN) applications. The HBA had limited hard disk capacity and didn’t support any operating system. Due to this it was difficult to manage and boot this device in SAN operational environments.

The solution was to develop PXE driver for HBA which would make this device capable of downloading a network bootable image from the network server and boot the machine remotely to increase manageability. We took full ownership of PXE driver development and conducted operational tests to verify the proper functioning of HBA.
