Executive summary
The client is based in America and is an innovator in smart home and IoT solutions, focused on transforming lighting infrastructure into intelligent networks. They wanted to develop an intelligent, sensor-based lighting node for commercial and industrial applications which could collect surrounding environmental information, support remote operations, optimize electricity usage and allow energy monitoring.
eInfochips handled the end-to-end development of the sensory node including the hardware design, firmware development, IP65 rated enclosure design, prototyping, testing and providing certification support. The solution was based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, equipped with a Quectel FC-20 Module for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, a Quectel EC25 LTE Modem Module to facilitate cellular communication and utilized the DALI protocol for lighting control.
eInfochips accelerated the time-to-market for the client by one quarter to enable the launch of the product before an important upcoming holiday season, thus securing a competitive advantage, and boosted the testing capacity up to 50 units per day by designing custom manufacturing test stations.
