Executive Summary
The client is an American multinational manufacturer and marketer of home appliances. Since the consumer devices are becoming more intelligent with advanced features, including multiple sensors, connectivity options, voice commands, etc., the client wanted to develop an intelligent Human Machine Interface (HMI) for its next-generation food appliance that includes a touchscreen interface and intelligent controls like voice-based command activation, face recognition, and food detection.
eInfochips leveraged its EIC NomAIzo™ AI framework to accelerate the development of an intelligent HMI powered by computer vision and NLP. Built on a Qualcomm Dragonwing™ SDA660 SoC-based platform, the solution integrated AI models for food recognition and facial identification, along with voice-enabled controls for hands-free operation. EIC NomAIzo™ enabled faster AI model development, optimization, and deployment at the edge, significantly reducing development complexity and time-to-market.
The solution delivered a scalable and intelligent HMI, successfully demonstrated as a proof-of-concept at a leading technology event, enabling smarter appliance interaction and enhanced user experience.
After evaluating the client’s requirement, eInfochips proposed a solution leveraging eInfochips 820 module based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 platform. eInfochips undertook the end-to-end development of the HMI for the client’s home appliance, including hardware design and firmware development.
