Executive Summary

The client, an American multinational corporation and technology company, is one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of water infrastructure products in North America. They focus on researching and developing innovations in water infrastructure, Advanced Metering (AM) infrastructure, Automated Meter Reading (AMR), leak detection, pipe condition assessment, engineered valves, and fire hydrants. The client wanted to upgrade the fire hydrants with some advanced features for node devices to configure, monitor, and track multiple events. The company was looking for a technology partner who had strong expertise in embedded firmware development, Linux and Windows build environments, real-time operating systems and microcontrollers, and C, and proficiency in working with hardware, schematics, and datasheets.  

Leveraging a strong technology partnership with the client, eInfochips took responsibility for the upgrade of the fire hydrants.
