Executive Summary

The client is a global software leader providing operating systems and other embedded solutions. They are one of the pioneers of Real Time Operating System (RTOS), the most widely used standard in Aerospace and Defense industry. Facing a business need to come with new RTOS compliance measures in line with stringent DO-178C guidelines, the client was looking for a partner to support independent verification and validation (IV&V) as well as SOI III certification.

Due to its vast experience in working with almost all versions of RTOS systems in avionics space, eInfochips positioned itself as a preferred partner of the client. Challenges were many as new library functions had to be added with newer RTOS versions requiring changes at the kernel level. An additional need was to automate testing scenarios and test cases while making them modular and scalable to support verification and certification of future RTOS versions.
