Executive Summary
Arthroscopy and Endoscopy procedures were carried out by large, expensive systems operated from specialized labs. The client envisaged a small and reliable desk-based device for individual doctor’s offices to enable real-time diagnosis and reduction of potentially inconclusive imaging procedures.
The solution was a compact, reliable and low-cost endoscopy unit deploying the latest cideo processing and streaming standards. One of the earliest medical equipment to have an touchscreen interface, this FDA Class II approved product was launched first in the USA, and then in Canada and Europe.
The innovation disrupted the market to move endoscopy and arthroscopy procedures from specialized labs to doctor’s desks, giving our client a leading position in this competitive landscape.
