DO-178B Motor Control for Horizontal Stabilizer System

Executive Summary

The client is a tier-1 aerospace supplier, based in USA. They were looking to build an Electric Motor Control Unit (EMCU) for a leading aircraft program, but the core team was reassigned to other priority projects. Also, Structural Coverage was never attempted on the EMCU.

Given a limited time window, the client was expected to cover Structural Coverage Analysis for the legacy EMCU using Vector Cast. The solution was to first qualify Vector Cast tool for testing the code with the end client. Thereafter, structural coverage analysis was reviewed, and identified gaps were plugged to the Digital Card (DC).

The complete solution was delivered without physical accessibility to the client lab setup. Our team demonstrated rapid ramp-up on the client’s proprietary tool, the EMCU system and the test setup. The client met the timelines for deliverables on their end.customer.
