The customer was looking for a Smart IP Video Surveillance system which would help in monitoring activities in retail stores and video content analysis with rules based object detection and classification for any suspicious event/activity including Area of Interest Definition, Object Appears/Disappears, Camera View Change and Alerts/ Email on events and Local storage of video data.

eInfochips enabled retail stores automation by customizing our camera reference design –IP Net Camera powered by Video Analytics software. eInfochips developed a customized framework and provided IPNetCam with various web based interface. Leveraging our proven expertise in security and surveillance, we designed the camera system and developed prototype boards which we helped the customer mass manufacture for their system, thereby reducing their system cost by over 30%.

The Customer

Our customer is one of the largest retail chains in US. They are well known for their smart services using technologies.
They are present in most of the states in US. They wanted a smart solution to monitor their retail store and we provided them with the customized IP based Network Camera addressing their needs.

The Challenge

  • Incorporating support for HTTP server FTP, SMTP, DHCP customer, TFTP.
  • Enable system for web based interface for camera configuration , programming, configuration of video parameters, system and network settings

The Solution

Design & Development

eInfochips has customized IPNet Cam as per specific requirements of the customer and has carried out various designs and developments.

  • We provided Turnkey embedded solution including hardware, firmware and Application Software solution to address the specific needs of retail store.
  • We carried out the development of framework providing interface for video/Audio capture, resize, streaming and video analytics, local as well as remote storage, short range wireless stack and special thermal sensor
  • We developed web based interface for camera configuration , programming, configuration of video parameters, system and network settings
  • To enhance system usability in various cases we added support for HTTP server FTP, SMTP, DHCP customer, TFTP
