Network Video Recording for HD Surveillance System

They wanted to have Network video recording system for HD surveillance and for that they approached eInfochips to have project partnership with them.

The network video recording solution is useful for high definition surveillance system and it supports multichannel hybrid NVR. The system supports more than 10 channels for video audio captured from various IP cameras and DVPB-HD. It also supports resizing of captured video from resolution D1 to CIF with H.264 AVC video and G.711 audio encoding.

eInfochips, as a project partner in the development of solution, has executed the board development for capture & display of video. We have also interfaced various hard wares, including key-board. We developed DVPB-HD board which is based on DaVinci" Technology.

Their solutions are well known for metro, access, fiber to the home, wireless infrastructure, storage, laser printers, and fiber access gateway equipment.

The Challenge

  • Enabling the system to support more than 10 channels for various audio video out put together.
  • Incorporating Audio and Video capture Inputs from DVPB-HD and IP cameras to ensure the compatibility of various inputs.
  • Time to market was critical for the customer and thus team eInfochips had to execute the project quickly.

The Solution

Design & Development

eInfochips has executed the development of Capture board (DVPB-HD), responsible for audio/video capture, encode and sending data to the customer board over PCI.
We have developed the Customer board for application receiving audio, video data from capture boards, performing storage and sending received audio video data to display the board for live streaming
We have also developed display board (DVPB-HD) which is responsible for audio/video decode, merging and sending video frame for display and playback.
Team eInfochips also incorporated various hardware interfaces like PCI, Gigabyte Ethernet, SATA HDD, keyboard with User interface having key-board.
With these boards development team eInfochips has enabled the Network Video Recording solution to support the following features:

  • Multi (>10) channel hybrid NVR
  • Audio and Video capture Inputs from DVPB-HD and IP cameras to ensure the compatibility of various inputs
  • Resizing of video from resolution D1 to CIF
  • H.264 AVC* video and G.711 audio encoding
  • Multiplexing of audio and video into container format (MP4) before their storage on the customer board
  • Decoded video channels merged to a single video frame and sent to live HD display on DVPB-HD**
  • Multi (>10) H.264 and Multi (>10) G.711 streams for live display on DVPB-HD**
  • Keyboard interface for menu browsing
  • All the communication done through PCI interface
  • Support for OSD and playback functionality
