eInfochips Launches the Smart IP Camera Reference
Design with ObjectVideo Analytics based on Texas Instruments’
DaVinci™ Technology
A ready-to-go reference design enables OEMs to build ObjectVideo®
OnBoard™ enabled complex video analytics surveillance cameras
quickly and easily
Dallas, Texas – March 7, 2007 - eInfochips, a leading chip and product design services company
with "spec-to-silicon-to-system" capabilities, today unveiled
the smart IPNetCam at the worldwide Texas Instruments Developer
Conference (TIDC). IPNetCam is one of the world’s first camera
reference designs with dual streaming with multiple codecs and ObjectVideo®
OnBoard™ robust analytics on Texas Instruments’ DaVinci™
technology. The camera establishes new standards in network-supported
security and video surveillance technology. The reference design
is a ready-to-go solution enabling original equipment manufacturers
(OEMs) to build a range of intelligent IP surveillance cameras quickly
and with low development costs.
IPNetCam incorporates a highly sensitive three-megapixel, ½-inch
progressive scan CMOS sensor with electronic rolling shutter and
global reset release. The IPNetCam leverages advanced video and
image processing features offered by DaVinci technology. The camera
supports three compression formats: JPEG, MPEG-4 and H.264, allowing
users to choose the appropriate combination of encoding to match
the environment and monitoring applications. The camera supports
QCIF, CIF, VGA and D1 resolutions with 30 fps performance for all
the compression formats. With the triple streaming feature, one
JPEG and two MPEG-4 images can be streamed simultaneously.
The camera utilizes ObjectVideo OnBoard, the industry-leading technology
for video content analysis that allows rule-based object detection,
classification, tracking and real-time alerting. Equipped with two
sensor inputs and two alarm outputs, the camera can be used for
triggering external devices for ObjectVideo alerts. SD memory card
support allows pre- and post-event recording. The camera hosts a
user-friendly GUI accessible through a browser, which allows remote
viewing and camera configuration, including the creation and management
of ObjectVideo OnBoard rules.
“The smart IPNetCam reference design will enable new price-performance
points in the intelligent surveillance market,” said Tapan
Joshi, vice president of marketing at eInfochips. “The reference
design can be easily customized. For OEMs looking for customized
design, we will also provide hardware and software customization
services reusing IP and building blocks from the reference design.”
“As an early adopter, eInfochips has gained expertise on
DaVinci technology. The IPNetCam design will help eInfochips and
TI mutually target the burgeoning security surveillance market,”
said Danny Petkevich, video security business manager, TI.
“ObjectVideo is delighted to enable eInfochips’ IPNetCam
with ObjectVideo OnBoard, optimized for the DaVinci devices,”
said Brian Eckert, vice president of sales and marketing for ObjectVideo.
“eInfochips has created a comprehensive, integrated platform
that helps companies quickly and easily bring analytics enabled
IP cameras to market – and puts ObjectVideo intelligence into
the edge device.”
Pricing and Availability:
The smart IPNetCam camera kit is available for $4995. The design
