eInfochips joins GENIVI Infotainment Alliance

eInfochips joins the Global Infotainment Alliance GENIVI as an associate member. GENIVI, an industry collaboration dedicated to driving the development and broad adoption of an open source In Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) reference platform was founded by leading car manufacturers and suppliers.

“eInfochips is joining the GENIVI Alliance to collaborate with other industry leaders in the development of an innovative, reliable, open source in-vehicle infotainment platform,” said Nirav Shah, Director of Marketing at eInfochips. “GENIVI’s collaborative development approach allows us to create unique and differentiated IVI products and services that will facilitate reusability, thus reducing time to market and cost.”

IVI is a rapidly growing and evolving field that encompasses automotive infotainment products and services including music, news, Internet and multimedia, navigation and location, and telephony. eInfochips will be able to access GENIVI’s exclusive spec of IVI and hence broaden its options for integrating and customizing IP solutions for automobile manufacturers worldwide.

GENIVI has significant members from silicon and software industries contributing to the infotainment ecosystem. eInfochips will be the part of the consortium along with the initial founding members like BMW Group, Delphi, GM, Intel, PSA Peugeot Citroen, Visteon and Wind River.
