eInfochips’ CEO bags the AMA Outstanding IT Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2004

SANTA CLARA, CA., June 19, 2004. - eInfochips, a leading provider of design services for ASICs and embedded systems, is pleased to announce that the Ahmedabad Management Association, in India, has chosen Pratul Shroff, CEO eInfochips for the IT Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2004. The Jajoo - AMA Centre for Entrepreneurship in IT has instituted this award to recognize enterprising individuals who have built a successful IT organization in Gujarat and have made a significant contribution to the industry with their leadership.

Mr. Shroff founded eInfochips in 1995 with a singular vision: to build an enduring, world-class electronic design services organization to serve customers globally and to lay the foundation for Gujarat’s Semiconductor and Embedded Systems industry. Today, eInfochips employs over 150 design engineers, has offices in Santa Clara, CA, Boston, MA and Bangalore, India, and provides solutions and services to bluechip technology companies like Verisity, TI, ATI, AMCC, LSI Logic, Cisco and others. The company has seeded technology education in the local engineering schools by active participation in curriculum development and hands-on teaching and training.

Pratul holds a BS in Electronics Engineering from BITS, and a MS in Computer Engineering from Cornell. He worked for 10 years at Intel and Daisy Systems. At Intel, he was one of the designers of the 80186 chip, fountainhead of the PC era. Pratul was also one of the founding engineers of Daisy Systems. Having started from scratch, Daisy achieved $125 million in sales and employed around 1200 people with world wide operations within five years of its founding. He returned to India in 1987 and was a co-founder of Contech before beginning eInfochips.
