Our customer is a leading US-based space saving solution provider to US market to save space.   

             

Our client had space saving solutions on the market, and wanted to build a software environment which enabling automated document capture, management and delivery heath care records solutions for their customers.  Their target was to help enhancing the Streamlining of patient record access, reduces processing errors and makes available medical records to doctors, patients and staff instantly for hospitals.
Our customer did not have the software expertise for developing a record management system, and hence engaged eInfochips to enhance the current features of their old medical records management software in order to keep pace with the changing times and enormity of records. With technology like Visual Basic 6.0, Oracle 9i, Crystal Reports, VS flex grid 7.0 team eInfochips developed the Medical record management software solution and made the software well advanced than other available software solutions. Our offshore engagement model provided over 50% cost saving for the development of this software for the customer.

The Customer

Our customer has been providing space saving and productivity solutions to businesses throughout the US and active accounts nearly thirty years running. Their commitment to service is evident by the customers they keep and the suppliers with whom they have special relationships.

The Challenge

  • We had to study Health Care management applications and its nuances within a week’s time-frame as time to market was critical for our customer.
  • As we had to enhance current software, we had to study the  existing Health Records management architecture and features
  • We had to incorporate Enormity and Volume of Medical records workflow and processes
  • Setting up offshore development and maintenance environment and solving design, bug fix, testing and support issues with 24 hrs turnaround time

The Solution

Document/ Record Search & Retrieval

Prior to this, search results for patient’s records yielded a lot of unwanted data owing to faint keyword matches. eInfochips’ efforts has helped to streamline and target only the desired results.

Workflow

This modification helped the doctors or administrator to simultaneously select a bunch of records and change their status to be “processed”, “completed” etc. Earlier this had to be done separately for each document.

Indexing

Bunch of documents were created owing to the repeated visits of same patients. In order to reduce the arduousness of having to refer multiple documents to track patient’s progress, eInfochips team modified the code to have a single document track and update patient data on recurring visits.

Reporting

  • Report Header customization helped label report windows according to customer requirements.
  • Patient reports were modified to display information based on locale of the operating system.
  • Patient records registered from locations with varying time zones were unable to be sorted accurately on the basis of time. This flaw was fixed.

Administrator Q/A

  • For cases such as mother and child, both patient health records were to be made available on a single document for simultaneously tracking health progress. eInfochips team has helped to  merge two documents in order to enable this.
  • Functions such as delete and print on multiple documents through simultaneous selection were introduced.
  • Modifications on health record documents (such as deleted, modified) by administrator were to be tapped for transparency. This was enabled by introducing 4 new document status track features

The Benefit

  • Adhering to our “On Time Every Time” brand promise, we delivered the solution with 0% schedule slippage from our end, which enabled the customer to launch their product sooner than originally expected and saved about 10% of development time
  • Levering our specialized expertise in video processing systems development, we recommended and implemented more number of features than the customer requested, which enabled the customer build the system with unique features and capture additional 15% market share than planned
  • Though our amplified offshore engagement model, eInfochips enabled the customer to complete the product development at a 50% lower project cost
